You can still see all the crazy textures on the hills and sand on the rover, on his suit, everything! It’s still awesome. Attached to a budget TV under $700 4K TV you can still see all the detail. Even if you don’t have an expensive 4K TV. What does that mean? That means it’s going to look awesome. This is definitely up there for a reference level 4K experience. There was also some color grading from what I’ve read and it looks phenomenal. What this means is most of the visual effects will be mastered at 2K, however, all of the live effects are still in 4K and 6K. However, it is only a 2K digital intermediate. So the Martian was shot with 4K and 6K cameras. I also have an XBOX One S to watch 4K Blu-ray movies as well. Got a 4K TV, got a 4K AV receiver and got a 4K Ultra High Definition Blu-ray player, the Oppo 203. What’s up everybody?
